8.  Because of Caiaphas's prophecy (vv. 51-52,) Caiaphas encouraged Jesus' death (vv. 49-50) thus trying to avoid political downfall (v. 48.)  Read Isaiah 49:6 and John 10:16.  Caiaphus used the prophecy for political comfort.  What was God's intention for the prophecy?

5.  What does v. 17 say the people were doing?

John chapter 13-13:30

2.  Up to this point in Jesus' ministry, how was the display of Jesus' love different than before?

3.  Do you think Peter's response in v. 9 was due to obediant enthusiasm or a bit of sarcasm?  (Be sure to read Jesus' response in vv. 10-11 to Peter's response before you answer.)

4.  Jesus didn't ask us to be providers or miracle workers or teachers of His Word (although some people are called to do these things.)  What does He ask us (everyone) to be/do in vv. 13-17?
